TOGETHER WE GROW

El Paso SLI is dedicated to providing top-notch interpreting services to our clients. Our team of skilled interpreters is committed to delivering the highest quality of service possible. We take pride in our ability to match the skill level of our interpreters to our clients' communication needs, which has contributed to our rapid growth. Our excellent customer service is another reason why our clients choose us.

Our History: Built from the Community

El Paso SLI Sign Language Interpreters, LLC began with a simple but powerful purpose: to ensure the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community had access to communication that was not only accurate but culturally respectful.

Founded in 2009 by Tamara Marquez—a proud CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) raised in a multilingual, Deaf household—El Paso SLI was born from lived experience and a deep understanding of what true access means. Tamara holds National Interpreter Certification (NIC) through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and state certification through the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) certification program of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS), reflecting her longstanding commitment to professional excellence and ethical standards in the field.

What started as a local interpreting service grounded in community quickly evolved into something larger: a movement toward equity, advocacy, and cultural representation in interpretation.

Over time, the agency grew through word of mouth, trust, and a reputation for excellence. As demand for high-quality, culturally aligned interpreting services expanded, so did we.

Today, El Paso SLI has grown from a regional leader into a national provider of ASL interpreting services, offering both on-site and virtual interpreting across the country. Our team includes certified and highly skilled interpreters who serve clients in education, healthcare, government, legal settings, and beyond.

Even as we grow, our mission remains unchanged: to honor the language, identity, and culture of the Deaf community by providing access with a “Deaf heart” at the center. From El Paso to coast-to-coast partnerships, we carry our roots with us in every interpretation.
